You will serve as the Division Principal Engineer (DPE) in the Digital Transformation Division of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as the lead engineering and technical authority, supporting the division head by providing expert oversight across all technical capabilities.
- →You will advise and mentor division personnel, and provide authoritative recommendations to the Division Head on employee assignments and technical performance.
- →You will be accountable for the proper execution of all technical tasks, ensuring that the work performed aligns with the requirements and standards set by Program Offices, the department Chief Engineer, customers, and the fleet.
- →You will lead the design and implementation of all primary systems.
- →You will guide and document the DEVSECOPS and Agile approaches for all engineering projects, from design and testing through to deployment.
- →You will oversee requirements analysis, develop system architectures, and direct the configuration management of software source code and its associated documentation.
- →You will provide technical leadership in solving complex engineering problems, especially those involving state-of-the-art equipment and the integration of COTS software and hardware.
- →You will approve critical design choices and interface with Product Owners and Technical Program Managers to ensure the successful integration of system components.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
