You will serve as an Emergency Response Dispatcher in the Emergency Management Local Dispatch Center (LDC) of NAS SIGONELLA.
What You'll Do
- →You will work in the primary dispatch facility for all Fire, Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and Law Enforcement throughout the Regional area of responsibility.
- →You will serve as an Installation Emergency Response Dispatcher responsible for obtaining the necessary information from various monitoring sources or individuals and dispatching police, fire and medical emergency service assets.
- →You will serve as a key point of contact between field personnel, station management and representatives of other public safety agencies during emergency response operations or assignments.
- →You will simultaneously monitor and operate a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, a multi- line telephone system, a multi-channel radio system , a multi-channel logging recorder, computerized security alarms, and fire alarm systems.
- →You will assign priorities and implement appropriate action and responses, control units in the field and coordinate with other supervisory and managerial personnel.
- →You will be responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information relayed to responding units and entered into logs and records.

- ✓To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
- ✓Must be certified in accordance with national standards and established protocols to perform EMD services to callers with medical emergencies.
- ✓Incumbent must have the ability to pass the Emergency Medical Dispatch certification through the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch within 6 months from the date of hire.
- ✓Incumbent is required to successfully complete the Local Dispatch Center (LDC) Training Program to include classroom and On-The-Job training.
- ✓During emergencies, employees may be required to work long periods without breaks.
- ✓Incumbent must be able to read information on computer screens.
- ✓Incumbent must have color vision adequate to distinguish between green, red, and yellow lights on alarm and equipment control panels and to read information from a multi-colored computer screen.
