About the Role
This vacancy is for an Electrician, 2805-10, located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, BASE LOS ANGELES LONG BEACH FACILITIES ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT -F in SAN PEDRO, California.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as an Electrician and be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical wiring systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment in industrial, institutional, office, and residential buildings.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Installing and troubleshooting new and/or altering/relocating existing circuits in support of other building trades in variety of buildings, roadways/parking lots and waterfront facilities.
- →Working with single and multiphase systems of up to 12,000 volts AC and 240 volts DC to install and maintain power and control cable structures involving bending and laying of conduit (rigid, thin wall and flex) and pulling, splicing and connecting cable.
- →Overhauling, maintaining, repairing, installing and modifying electrical systems associated with various types of machinery/equipment such as rolling stock, shop machinery (and attachments), and utilities.
- →Utilizing computer-based systems such as Microsoft Office, Shore Asset Management and SharePoint to perform work order management, preventive maintenance tracking, and reporting.
