The position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Capitol Building, Assistant Superintendent, Capitol and Capitol Visitor Center, Operations and Maintenance Division, Maintenance Branch, Electrical Section, Evening/Night Electrical Unit Branch. Serves as the Electrician Leader for the Branch. Receives instructions from the Electrician Supervisor, sets the pace, checks work in progress and answers questions of the supervisor on behalf of other Electricians assigned to the Branch.
What You'll Do
- →This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Capitol Building, Assistant Superintendent, Capitol and Capitol Visitor Center, Operations and Maintenance Division, Maintenance Branch, Electrical Section, Evening/Night Electrical Unit Branch.
- →The incumbent is the Electrician Leader for the Branch.
- →Tour of Duty: Evening Shift or Night Shift Do you prefer Evening Shift (1:00 pm -9:30 pm) or Night Shift (9:00 pm - 5:30 am).
- →If you would like to be considered for more than one shift, please list the shift in order of preference in your work history/resume.
- →This position is essential.
- →The employee is required to report to work during emergencies and inclement weather situations.
- →The tour of duty may include holidays and weekends on a regular or recurring basis.
- →Rotating shift work may also be required at Management's discretion.
- →Duties: Assigns the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the workgroup.
- →Works along with other workers and set the pace.
- →Obtains needed information of decisions from the supervisor on problems that come up during the work.
- →Maintains a current knowledge and answers questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
- →Assures that there is enough work to keep everyone in work crew busy.
- →Checks work while in progress and when finished to see whether the supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met.
