This position is part of the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), Department of the Interior (DOI). As a Education Technician (Tutor) you will be responsible for coordinating tutoring services between SIPI's non-academic and academic programs to further enhance student learning and student support.
What You'll Do
- →As a Education Technician (Tutor), GS-1702-7, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision: Organize tutoring environment to promote productivity and learning.
- →Teach students study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies.
- →Research or recommend textbooks, software, equipment, or other learning materials to complement tutoring.
- →Review class material with students by discussing text, working solutions to problems, or reviewing worksheets or other assignments.
- →Prepare and facilitate tutoring workshops, collaborative projects, or academic support sessions for smallgroups of students.
- →Provide feedback to students, using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students.
