What You'll Do
- →Exercises technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers.
- →Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on a weekly or monthly basis.
- →Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, in accordance with general work schedules, methods, and policies established by higher-level supervisors.
- →Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
- →Assigns work to individual workers by verbal or written instructions.
- →Monitors work in progress and inspects completed work to assure work order requirements.
- →Sets performance standards for subordinates and makes formal appraisals of their work performance.
- →Counsels employees and discusses informal complaints and grievances with workers and union representatives.
- →Initiates disciplinary actions as needed.
- →Maintains work reports and records.
