This position is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position serves as Director of the Forest Service's safety, occupational health, and emergency management programs. For additional information about the duties of this position, please contact Sarah Fisher, sarah.fisher@usda.gov
What You'll Do
- →Serves as the Forest Service’s senior advisor on national Safety, Occupational Health, and Emergency Management policy.
- →Develops and oversees national safety policy, strategic planning, and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and federal standards.
- →Leads agency wide cultural change, risk management, and accident prevention initiatives Conducts high level program analyses and briefs senior leadership on trends and outcomes.
- →Represents the Forest Service in coordination with other partners.
- →Oversees safety training, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s, and communication strategies.
- →Provides limited supervisory oversight and ensures adherence to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Civil Rights requirements.
Requirements
- ✓Conditions of Employment: Must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or National.
- ✓Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
- ✓Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- ✓Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.

- ✓Subject to one year supervisory/managerial probationary period unless prior service is creditable.

- ✓Upon completion of your probationary period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
