Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (PACS) (GS-0647-11) - This position serves as a technical liaison and system administrator for the Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) and digital imaging/voice recognition networks, ensuring optimal configuration, compliance, and user training. The incumbent may also independently function as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in complex modalities.
What You'll Do
- →Primary Duties Manages daily PACS operations, monitors background processors, gatekeepers, and DICOM configurations, and resolves image transmission or display malfunctions.
- →Coordinates with Information Technology (IT), Biomedical Engineering, and clinical users to optimize digital imaging networks and address interface issues.
- →Identifies training priorities and instructs radiologists, technologists, and clinical staff on the proper use of imaging hardware and software systems.
- →Designs and maintains quality control programs for digital images to meet regulatory standards, and provides equipment quality assurance monitoring.
- →Verifies successful exam transmissions, manages workflow documentation for proper workload capture, and ensures compliance with Medicare standards for CPT coding.
