About the Role
This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Human Capital, Human Capital Strategy & Systems Group, Division of Workforce Analytics & Accountability. As a Data Scientist, GS-1560-13, you will design, develop, and implement the analytical, statistical, and programming mechanisms necessary to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret unique and specialized human resources (HR) data sets.
What You'll Do
- →Advises on workforce and HR data reporting.
- →Collects, organizes, analyzes, and interprets specialized HR data sets, including but not limited to recruitment, staffing, retirement, separations.
- →Collects, cleans, and analyzes data; creates visualizations; and develops and tests hypotheses using tools like SAS, R, or SPSS.
- →Uses business intelligence tools to generate reports and communicate statistical insights to non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- ✓Education Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, all candidates must have the following educational requirements: Basic Requirements: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position.
- ✓The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
