The Child and Youth Program (CYP) Direct Care Supervisor assists the center Director by supervising, supporting, and instructing Direct Care Professionals in CDCs and SAC Programs. They oversee staff accountability, manage schedules, model proper interactions, and maintain program requirements. When necessary, they provide ratio coverage and can serve as the Manager on Duty, fully assuming the Director's responsibilities and oversight duties in their absence to ensure smooth daily operations.
What You'll Do
- →Supervisory duties comprise 25% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to: Directs work to be accomplished by staff.
- →Assigns work based on priorities, difficulty and requirements of assignments, and staff capabilities.
- →Conducts annual performance reviews of staff.
- →Participates in section staffing decisions.
- →Ensures staff receives proper training to fulfill requirements of their positions.
- →Addresses potential disciplinary and/or performance issues timely and takes appropriate, corrective action(s) as necessary.
- →Supports Commander, Navy Installations Command's (CNIC) Equal Employment.

- →General duties comprise 75% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to: Personnel Management Supervises an assigned team of direct care professionals and volunteers.
- →Initiates and implements personnel actions and supports the CYP Director in order to assure quality related to selection, assignments, training, promotions, disciplinary actions, and recognition of employees and volunteers.
- →Supports and carries out all established Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) objectives and policies in matters of personnel management and communicates support of these policies.
- →Establishes local performance standards for employees and volunteers using established standards and requirements and rates employees' performance.
- →Coordinates with Training and Curriculum Specialists and confirms intended learning outcomes are applied and reassessed as applicable to refine individual competency and promote mastery of new skill(s).
- →Resolves complaints related to personnel concerns and makes recommendations to the Director for corrective action as necessary.
Requirements
- ✓** Required to provide a copy of your H.S.
- ✓OR Two years of specialized experience teaching children or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position to be filled.
