About the Role

The position is located at the Charles George VA Medical Center, Asheville, NC, and is organizationally aligned within the Health Administration Service, serving as a Training Specialist.

What You'll Do

  • Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Provides computer-assisted instruction.
  • Applies a wide range of teaching tools.
  • Runs reports.
  • Meets the needs of customers while supporting the VA mission.
  • Consistently communicates with and treats customers in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
  • Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately.
  • Knowledge of theories, concepts, principles, and techniques that enable innovative adjustments to standard educational methodologies.
  • Knowledge of trainer/facilitator skills, oral and written communication skills, negotiation techniques, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people with differing backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of theories, principles, practices, and techniques of program evaluation and measurement and management tools and techniques.
  • Provides leadership and guidance as an educational advisor and consultant.
  • Projects appropriate budgetary requirements and maintains training schedules.
  • Conducts analyses of training requirements and needs through use of surveys, job analyses, interviews, and personal collaborations.
