About the Role
The Community Living Center and Hospice Registered Nurse delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
What You'll Do
- →The CLC and Hospice Staff RN considers all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences.
- →They administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines, influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- →The CLC and Hospice Nurse is an RN who will utilize the nursing process and evidence-based practice in order to develop individual plans of care for patients in the CLC and Hospice.
- →The RN provides ongoing bereavement support, recognizing each Veteran's desire for autonomy and their right to dignified care throughout the end-of-life process.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
