About the Role

You will serve as a CIVIL, MECHANICAL or ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPT, PRODUCTION FACILITY & PLANT EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION, MAINTENANCE PROGRAM DIVISION (Code 900F.2) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. SSR 414H: (Series 0810/0830) GS-11: $86,472 - $109,867 GS-12: $95,994 - $124,031 SSR 422H: (Series 0850) GS-11: $88,599 - $111,994 GS-12: $101,092 - $129,129

What You'll Do

  • You will serve as the primary liaison between Building Managers (BM) and support service personnel.
  • You will manage the Building Manager Program for the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.
  • You will provide technical and engineering direction necessary to ensure safe working facilities for the shipyard workforce.
  • You will periodically inspect facilities and follow up on high interest work requests including performing construction/project management duties You will provide technical evaluations of current facility conditions and ensure facility meets applicable building codes and life safety standards.
  • You will plan, assess, and coordinate all minor projects on facilities.
  • You will ensure integration of design and construction activities and the implementation and oversight of engineering, architecture and/or scientific requirements in contracts for design or construction of minor projects.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

  • OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
  • Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
