This vacancy is for a GS - 0893 - 14, Chemical Engineer located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, HAZARDOUS MATERIALS DIVISION -CG-ENG-5 in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.
What You'll Do
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Serving as the senior technical advisor for the Federal regulatory program required by law and treaty, for the carriage of bulk solid cargoes and packaged hazardous materials.
- →Evaluating and interpreting legislation for its effect on transportation of packaged and bulk hazardous material by water.
- →Serving as the expert technical consultant for all hazardous chemical research and development conducted in the division.
- →Reviewing draft legislation for impact and presenting technical papers before nationally and internationally recognized professional organizations.
- →Preparing and reviewing Coast guard testimony for Congressional hearings.
