In this position you will design and evaluate animal health data for adverse animal health events, assess the quality of data collected, interpret analytical results of livestock data and, report analytic findings through discussion, presentation, or written reports/web-based dashboards. Results are communicated to supervisors and/or State, Federal or industry partners to use in policy and decision support.
What You'll Do
- →The duties described are for the full-performance level.
- →At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
- →The duties may include, but are not limited to: Furnishes authoritative expertise to program personnel on study approaches, surveillance designs, sampling methodologies, data collections, modeling, method development, and analysis of animal health and management activities.
- →Ensures that assigned projects are properly scoped, planned and executed, including assignment of tasks, collection of data from various sources, and application or development of appropriate quantitative or qualitative analytical methods and models.
- →Acts as a technical authority in surveillance and study functions by leading other analysts to develop and enhance animal health surveillance and monitoring systems.
- →Is responsible for planning, initiating, directing, coordinating, and controlling complex analysis and interpretation of program data.
- →Develops sampling designs and methods for national animal health surveillance and study planning.
- →Conducts research and analyses to present valid recommendations to management for revising program policy and to establish technical regulations or procedures to carry out program work.
