You will serve as a Biological Science Technician working in Yosemite National Park, CA for Yosemite National Park. This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of ten years, or more based on any changes to regulations governing the number of years term appointments may last, without further competition at management's discretion.
What You'll Do
- →Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Lead field surveys for endangered carnivores, including camera surveys, trapping, telemetry, and den monitoring.
- →Assist project manager in coordination and management of administrative tasks and field activities involving vehicle maintenance, capturing carnivores, administrative anesthesia, and collecting genetic samples.
- →Use databases to enter and manage field data, perform data summaries, and assist with preparation of reports; use computer software programs to summarize data and produce graphs, charts, and illustrations for reports and presentations.
- →Evaluate field activity procedures, schedules, and techniques; recommend modifications as necessary to accomplish project objectives; assist in the preliminary analysis of field data and prepare reports and correspondences relating to field activities and results.
- →Provide technical information and data submissions to colleagues for the purposes of informing park management activities.
Requirements
