You will serve as a Biological Science Technician (Fish) working in Wadmalaw Island, SC for Bears Bluff National Fish Hatchery. In this position you will assist hatchery crew in providing daily care for fish in an aquatic facility.
What You'll Do
- →Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Assists with propagation of fish, plants, and/or other aquatic organisms at the Bears Bluff National Fish Hatchery.
- →Performs daily husbandry duties: feeding, weighing, and measuring fish and aquatic organisms.
- →Cleans, monitors, and performs light maintenance on enclosures and life support systems.
- →Monitors hatchery water quality and/or other environmental parameters, and reports to supervisor when out of desired range.
- →Assists biologists with controlled reproduction of fish and other aquatic organisms in a hatchery setting, collecting and hatching eggs, husbandry of offspring, and delivery at scheduled times.
Requirements

- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

- ✓Emergency Response: Incumbent is required to respond to alarms on the evenings and weekends, as assigned.
