About the Role

This vacancy is for a GS-0808-13, Architect located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, FACILITIES DESIGN and CONSTRUCTION CENTER in NORFOLK, Virginia. This is a temporary/term appointment not to exceed 09/30/2029.

What You'll Do

  • You will serve as an Architect and be responsible for procuring, coordinating and managing the design and construction related services provided by Architectural/Engineering firms.
  • Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
  • Typical work assignments include: Manages project teams and schedules to ensure multiphase projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provides technical advices, resolve issues and works with others to meet project requirements.
  • Leads design teams manages engineering works and ensures projects are effective and efficient.
  • Manages contract activities reviews proposals and overseas contractor performance.

  • Must maintain Contracting Officer Representative (COR) certification This position may require occasional overtime work.
