About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Walla Walla District US Army Corps of Engineers helps manage local water resources for navigation, flood damage reduction, disaster assistance, hydroelectric power generation, and other natural and heritage areas.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as an Architect in the Structural Design Section.
- →Responsible for planning, designing, and constructing new, modified, and upgraded features of civil and military works projects.
- →Determine features meet all requirements stipulated in State and Federal building codes as well as USACE and industry standards.
- →Develop the scope of the problem and derive criteria to arrive at an optimum design when precedence has not been stipulated in any codes or standards.
- →Design (both preliminary and final) for features of civil works projects including flood control, hydropower, fish passage, and recreational facilities.
- →Design (both preliminary and final) for military works projects include office buildings, housing, storage warehouses, and specialized shops.
- →Review designs and working drawings prepared by engineers/architects, A/E firms, and personnel from other Districts.
- →Write technical specifications and draw construction documents with CAD software.
