THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (UH-72A) (Title 32), Position Description Number D2390000 and is part of the AR ARNG AASF, National Guard. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQURED- If you are not currently a member of any military service (Branch/Status), please provide a letter stating intent to join. This position will be assigned to the Quality Assurance department of the AASF.
What You'll Do
- →Manages, monitors or performs overall maintenance within the CAMP and FAA framework, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance UH-72A military aircraft.
- →Performs work in complex conditions under time and/or mission constraints to include all weather and night operations.
- →Trains, coordinates, and oversees the work of Non-Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) aircraft mechanics.
- →Provides mentorship for those journey level workers pursuing A&P certification.
- →Certifies completion of maintenance tasks of non A&P mechanics and certifies the work of journey level workers in other trades working on the assigned aircraft.
- →Certifies aircraft as airworthy before being released for flight.
- →Performs ground checks and assists functional check pilots with in flight functional check procedures.
- →Performs damage assessments and repairs.
- →Participates in mission preparation and recovery operations.
- →Oversees installation of equipment for special missions.
- →Expedites UH-72A aircraft operations to include concurrent servicing, refueling, and/or reconfiguration of equipment for changes in operational missions.
- →Performs preflight, thru flight, and post-flight inspections and scheduled or unscheduled maintenance.
- →Serves as the technical authority to identify and advise on requirements for airframe, mechanical, electrical/environmental, avionics, engine, and pneudraulic repairs on assigned aircraft. 2.
- →Requests maintenance services exceeding AASF capabilities or time constraints.
Requirements
- ✓NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.

- ✓Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement.
- ✓This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
- ✓Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership in the military grade listed below.
- ✓Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- ✓Military Grades: Enlisted/Officer Minimum Grade - E-5/SSG or W1/WO1 Maximum Grade - E-8/MSG or W1/WO1 Compatible Military Assignments: Selectee must be a member of the Arkansas Army National Guard.
- ✓The MOS of 15T/151A/153D is preferred.
- ✓IMPORTANT NOTES (AS APPLICABLE): Upon selection for this position, individual must possess or initiate a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.
- ✓A favorable determination based upon investigative results is mandatory for this position.
- ✓Failure to meet these requirements will result in termination of employment.
- ✓A pre-placement physical is required if not already current.
- ✓Upon selection, must complete mandatory Full-Time Support (FTS) Training at the Professional Education Center (PEC) within six months of assignment (if applicable, training will be coordinated by the supervisor).
- ✓Individual must meet all military requirements of the position without creating a grade inversion, as determined by the Human Resources Office (HRO).
