About the Role
The incumbent works at the Dayton VAMC, Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MH RRTP) with primary responsibilities to provide a full range of direct patient care services to MH RRTP Veterans with diagnosis of a Substance Use Disorder. The position requires extensive work with veterans diagnosed with substance use disorders.
What You'll Do
- →Licensed Masters Addiction Therapists (LMATs) independently provide addiction screening/assessments, orientation/education, treatment planning and counseling in person or via telehealth.
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: The position requires extensive work with veterans diagnosed with substance use disorders (SUD).
- →The LMAT may provide.
- →The SUD population of veterans will receive a variety of therapeutic services such as medication assisted therapy, addiction education, group therapy, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, case management and service coordination in accordance with VHA mission and professional standards..
- →The LMAT will provide evidenced-based practices in programming and recovery plan development.
- →Provides psychoeducation to assigned Veterans across an array of modalities, including individuals, groups, families and couples either as leaders or co-leader.
- →LMATs will administer crisis intervention to patients in psychological distress handling emergencies within the scope of practice and in accordance with VHA directive and policy.
- →They may perform clinical supervision and oversight of patient care, as assigned.
- →LMATs are part of the team that formulates discharge plans and arranges referrals to community agencies and organizations.
- →LMATs collaborate with other disciplines to compile data to ensure quality patient care and compliance with organizational and accreditation requirements.
- →Other duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: 0800-1630, Monday-Friday Functional Statement #: 93218-A (GS-09); 93219-A (GS-11) Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary.
- →It typically requires sitting with sustained periods of concentration.
- →There will be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of relatively light objects.
