What You'll Do
- →As a Wildland Firefighter (Fire Management Planning) -Training Specialist your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Serves as a wildland fire training specialist, planning, coordinating, and delivering interagency fire, fuels, prescribed fire, and aviation training across Department and Bureau programs.
- →Develops, manages, and instructs National Wildfire Coordinating Group and Bureau-required courses, including scheduling, cadre selection, course logistics, training materials, and maintaining compliant training websites.
- →Acts as the unit manager for Incident Qualifications and Certification System, entering training records, managing task books, producing qualification cards, supporting qualification review committees, and ensuring accuracy of incident qualification data.
- →Provides expert guidance to fire managers and cooperators on training policy, qualification standards, certification planning, and interagency coordination to reduce duplication and meet shared training needs.
- →Participates in fire operations and incident assignments to maintain subject-matter expertise, applying operational knowledge to develop effective training programs and deliver presentations to leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements

- ✓Citizen or National.
- ✓Suitability for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation.
