About the Role
You will serve as a WELDER LEADER in the Machine Shop Branch (Code 1440.2) Production Division (Code 1440) in the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) (Code 1400) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
What You'll Do
- →You will provide technical direction to welders, shipfitters and helpers in the manufacture and repair of propeller and propulsor components utilized on naval vessels.
- →You will perform electric arc welding utilizing various processes, such as mig, tig and shielded electrode, in the repair and manufacture of propeller and propulsor components.
- →You will utilize gauges tools and equipment used in the welder trade, such as regulators, flowmeters, rectifiers, pneumatic grinders, hand tools, etc.
- →You will inform supervision of work progress and status including actual or potential work problems and possible work delays.
