About the Role
The VISN Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) Nurse Practitioner (NP) position is a clinical and administrative staff repository that serves all VISN 20 facilities. Services provided by CRH staff are conducted via multiple modalities, including virtual and in-person care. Nurse Practitioner practices to provide a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs (VA) mission. The NP provides advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management.
What You'll Do
- →New Hire is required to live within 50 miles of a VISN 20 facility.
- →Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties include but are not limited to the following: Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management.
- →Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with Primary Care Team and other interdisciplinary team members.
- →Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies.
- →Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- →Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services.
- →Provides education to patients and their families.
- →Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- →Exemplifies the ICARE core values of-Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence.
- →This position could be approved for Mid-Term Extensions (MTE).
- →MTE allows for the facility leader to grant employees in the identified positions an extension up to 108-days to RTO; in which case approved positions would be approved locally to grant telework/remote for those 180-days.
- →May be required to work on site depending on space availability (location dependent) Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓English Language Proficiency.
- ✓In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
- ✓Acceptable form(s) of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents).
- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
