What You'll Do
- →If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for technical and administrative support of the District's Victim Witness Program.
- →Typical work assignments will include: Responding to victim inquiries via phone, e-mail, letters and fax, providing initial screening of victim concerns, and determining program eligibility for victim-witness services.
- →Providing information to victims on schedule changes, status of defendant's pleas, results of trial; opportunities to address the court, and post-sentencing notification.
- →Orienting victims to the Crime Victim Compensation Program' and providing information on how to contact the program and how to submit an application.
- →Coordinating with law enforcement agencies to assist victims with the return of their property being held as evidence, or to obtain copies of reports for securing services and assistance.
- →Providing information on restitution to Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) and forwarding Victim Impact Statements to U.S.
- →Inputting victim data into applicable database(s), and produces notification documents using the automated victim notification system.
- →Maintains a calendar of active victim cases which includes keeping track of hearings, trial dates, and sentencing dates.
- →Providing direct administrative and program support to one or more Victim-Witness staff members. - Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
