About the Role

This position is the Director, Analytics & Information Technology. They also serve as Deputy Chief Information Officer in the Office of Management, Office of Inspector General, U.S. National Science Foundation. The mission of the OIG is to provide independent and objective oversight of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of its programs and operations and to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse.

What You'll Do

  • Major Duties: Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide information technology systems, ensuring integration and alignment with agency mission and business needs.
  • Drive research and development efforts related to emerging technology and industry practices, applying findings to enhance program effectiveness and IT capabilities.
  • Identify, design, and implement novel solutions to complex program and operational challenges, integrating new and unprecedented concepts into agency workflows.
  • Serve as a focal point for decisions relating to technology plans and programs, providing authoritative guidance on technical, procedural, and strategic matters.
  • Direct the formulation, integration, evaluation, and implementation of IT plans, policies, standards, and architectures to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Set priorities and resolve work problems presented by technical experts and subordinates, recommending or implementing strategies to improve production and quality of work.
  • Manage demanding technical projects across multiple functional areas, including quality assurance, risk management, documentation, and change management.
  • Oversee and assign work to staff, including IT specialists, analysts, and program managers, ensuring alignment with agency priorities and strategic goals.
  • Provide actionable feedback, facilitate training and professional development, and conduct performance reviews to promote continuous improvement among team members.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient program and project delivery, supporting professional growth and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exercise technical and administrative supervisory controls, setting quarterly and annual goals, and resolving work problems to improve production and quality.
