This position is being filled under a stream-lined hiring authority, Title 21 of the United States Code (21 US Code 379d-3a) as amended by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, section 3072 and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Section 3624. The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment and be paid under the provisions of this authority. This position is being recruited based on the Title 21 Pay Table 1, Band C (GS-13 equivalent).
What You'll Do
- →Serves as a technical authority in veterinary medicine and advises CVM staff, FDA staff, and other relevant parties on veterinary medicine and public health policies, regulations, and procedures that impact animal drugs, foods, and devices.
- →Uses specialized veterinary medical science principles and practices to review a variety of quality, clinical, scientific, and other data submitted in support of proposed scientifically animal drugs, foods, and devices, and provide recommendations and guidance to Center review organizations and review scientists, and the regulated industry.
- →Advises on veterinary medical issues related to animal drugs, animal foods, medicated feeds, and devices, associated laws, regulations, and policies as well as on scientific research and industry developments in veterinary medicine, animal nutrition, and related fields.
- →Advises CVM staff and internal and external stakeholders on veterinary medicine and current research related to animal drugs, animal foods, medicated feeds, and devices.
- →Advises on issues related to animal drugs, foods, and devices (e.g., laws, regulations, and policies) as well as matters specific to scientific research and industry developments in veterinary medicine and related fields.
