About the Role
The VCS Central Office, located at the Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO, is conducting a recruitment search for an Accountant in our Finance Center. In this role, you will report to the Supervisory Accountant and play a critical role in the operations of the Finance Center.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties and Responsibilities: Account Analysis and Reconciliation: Analyzes and reconciles various accounts and transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- →Financial Reporting and Year-End Support: Prepares routine financial reports and assists with the year-end close-out process.
- →Development of Accounting Procedures: Develops procedural instructions for creating or modifying automated accounting systems and specific program areas.
- →Financial Data Analysis and Recommendations: Analyzes financial data, providing insights and recommending solutions to resolve complex financial issues.
- →General Ledger and Subsidiary Account Reconciliation: Resolves discrepancies between the general ledger and subsidiary accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
- →Additional Responsibilities & Flexibility: Perform and adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.
