About the Role
About the Position: Performs a variety of utility labor tasks at a hydro-electric power plant in connection with the operation, maintenance, and repair of the power project facilities and equipment ranging from laborer tasks requiring manual skill and equipment operation up to directly assisting journey level skilled trades workers.
What You'll Do
- →Assist workers of the various skilled trades at the project by performing individual tasks as directed by the journey level worker to whom assigned.
- →Operate hand and power tools, jackhammers, pavement breakers, chipping hammers, vibrators and grinders and construction equipment.
- →Operate, control, clean, and maintain a variety of heavy power equipment in a safe and efficient manner Perform various routine tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the facility and be able to efficiently assist journey level workers by accomplishing sub-journey level work in the various skilled trades utilized at the project.
- →Perform clean-up tasks, return of materials and tools, reassembly of components, removal of temporary scaffolding, bracing, or other appendages necessitated by the work performed.
- →Assist with cleaning surfaces, parts, or assemblies by washing, sanding, scraping, wire brushing, sand blasting, steam cleaning, etc.
- →Disassemble uncomplicated units or parts as directed.
- →Erect pre-fabricated staging or scaffolding.
