About the Role

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER, Position Description Number T6378000 and is part of the NE 155 MSG, National Guard.

What You'll Do

  • As a UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER, GS-0301-9, duties include: 1.
  • Deployment Planning and Execution: Plans, organizes, and oversee all unit-level deployment activities.
  • Configures and maintains functional Unit Type Codes (UTCs) as postured by MAJCOM Functional Area Managers (FAMs) using authorized unit resources.
  • Notifies the Installation Deployment Officer (IDO) and MAJCOM FAM of UTC shortfalls due to manpower or equipment changes.
  • Monitors UTC/UMD alignment and notifies leadership of mismatches.
  • Develops workload mitigation plans to maximize deployable capability.
  • Reviews deployment documents to identify personnel and equipment taskings.
  • Executes deployment operations on behalf of the unit commander and supports base mobility exercises.
  • Coordinates Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) taskings through the Installation Deployment Readiness Center (IDRC) and submits personnel named.
  • Validates personnel eligibility based on DAV codes, clearances, AFSC, skill levels, and Component Remark Codes.
  • Ensures compliance with UTC Mission Capability (MISCAP) Statements and submits shortfalls with documentation as required.
  • Works with unit personnel to tailor packages for contingency and exercise deployments.
  • Uses Logistics Module (LOGMOD) to track unit status.
  • Schedules deployment/redeployment processing with the Installation Personnel Readiness (IPR) office and ensures smooth personnel flow.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Education: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements for many positions covered by this standard.
  • Others have individual occupational requirements that specify that applicants must, in general, (1) have specific course work that meets the requirements for a major in a particular field(s), or (2) have at least 24 semester hours of course work in the field(s) identified.
  • Course work in fields closely related to those specified may be accepted if it clearly provides applicants with the background of knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance.
  • One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.
