What You'll Do
- →As a Transportation Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Advise on and coordinate Permanent Change of Station (PCS) policy and entitlements throughout National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
- →Interpret entitlements related to the shipment and storage of household goods (HHG) and vehicles.
- →Plan, coordinate, and review of all activities concerning the movement of HHG, vehicles, and personnel.
- →Evaluate and provide technical input on the development of new transportation information systems and propose modernization of existing automated transportation management systems.
- →Review all PCS documents to assure complete and accurate information and verify authorized benefits and entitlements.
- →Confirm and submit Relocation Income Tax Allowance (RITA) vouchers for processing to ensure employees are fully compensated for all tax liabilities.
- →Ensure that hiring officials, line offices, and employees receive accurate and timely information on PCS benefits and entitlements.
- →NOTE: These duties are described at the full performance level of the ZA-4; the ZA-3 is developmental leading to such performance.
Requirements
- ✓This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS).
- ✓Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.
- ✓The ZA-3 is equivalent to the GS-11/12.
- ✓The ZA-4 is equivalent to the GS-13/14.
- ✓Key Requirements: Applicants must be U.S.
- ✓Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation.

- ✓Must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable (www.sss.gov) Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
