About the Role

THIS IS AN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 RESILIENCE AND RISK REDUCTION PROGRAM SPECIALIST (MI J9), Position Description Number NGD1989P01 and is part of the MI JFHQ Army, Michigan Army National Guard. MICHIGAN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. What You'll Do

  • ***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP*** This position is located in the Military Personnel Office (MILPO), Army National Guard (ARNG).
  • The primary purpose of this position is to develop, evaluate, coordinate and deliver comprehensive, target group oriented preventive education and training and administrative support in administering the Resilience, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention Program (R3/SPP).
  • The primary objective of resilience is to help Soldiers, families and units develop the resiliency to overcome and respond positively to adversity.
  • The primary objective of risk reduction is to identify units and individuals with high risk profiles, and to provide low risk decision making education to increase the readiness of the soldier.
  • Work requires knowledge of the methods and techniques of education and training in such areas as instruction, development and/or evaluation of curricula, instructional materials and aids.
  • The incumbent also coordinates with the Counter Drug Office or State Alcohol and Drug Chemical Officer (ADCO) to provide soldiers treatment that is recommended for substance abuse issues.
  • Develops, implements, coordinates and monitors all aspects of the R3/SPP related to identification, assessment, intervention and preventive education.
  • Develops training modules for each target group that includes development of lesson plans, supporting visual aids, etc.
  • Serves as the collection/collaboration point of contact (POC) for the submission of crimes against persons and property, injuries/accidents, suicide attempts/completions in a computerized spreadsheet system.
  • Maintains adequate records and databases to administer the programs information to provide the necessary reports to the MILPO.
  • Creates quality spreadsheets, printouts and graphics for use by commanders, assesses data and provides command consultations to commanders at all levels recommending intervention strategies.
  • Maintains the unit R3/SPP Data reports.
  • Provides plans for an efficient resource management program and maximum support of service delivery.
  • Plans include supported projections of long-term soldier readiness and support plans and resource needs to ARNG level trends and directives.

Requirements

  • You must meet the following Education requirement to qualify for education in lieu of specialized experience for this position: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims.
  • To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
