THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC-TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1194000 and is part of the KY FMS 5, National Guard.
What You'll Do
- →As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC-TITLE 32, WG-5801-10, you will troubleshoot, perform maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles.
- →Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul major systems.
- →Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose the cause of mechanical failures.
- →Remove and disassemble engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and systems.
- →Independently perform repairs and maintenance functions by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems.
- →Conduct readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and equipment.
- →Perform operational inspections and ensure vehicles and equipment are properly serviced.
- →May maintain and repair equipment to include removing and replacing components and elements.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- ✓Military Grades: PV2(E2)-SGM(E9) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.
- ✓You must be assigned to a compatible military position.
- ✓Wear of the military uniform.
- ✓Position may require a pre-employment physical.
- ✓May be subject to furlough actions.
- ✓May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- ✓Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- ✓Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.
- ✓Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus.
- ✓Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.
- ✓This position is located on a tobacco free facility.
- ✓This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
- ✓An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
