THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is for a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, Position Description Number D1290000 located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-Georgia, Surface Maintenance Facility at FMS Moore, Columbus, GA. This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership. Area of Consideration: Open to current on-board Technicians in the Georgia Army National Guard.
What You'll Do
- →As a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, WS-5801-10, you will: Plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
- →Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor.
- →Ensure work in progress and completed work meets established standards by implementation of a Quality Control and Assurance program within the organization.
- →Determine training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment.
- →Implement and complies with agency, state, and federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements.
- →Develop, publish, and ensure employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised.
- →Initiate recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates.
- →Manage maintenance backlog through coordination with other maintenance activities.
- →Recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors.
- →Assist the supervisor with quarterly funding distribution and decisions, based on operational needs for units supported by customer activities.
- →Review funding requirements, prioritizes request and allocates funding based on readiness, training, and mobilization requirements.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.
