What You'll Do
- →As a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Leader (Temp Promo-OBO)-Title 32, WL-5801-11, you will serve as a working leader of three or more Surface Maintenance Mechanics, WG-5801-11.
- →Performs mechanic duties such as maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and/or overhaul of a variety of complex combat, tactical, commercial, and special purpose vehicles and equipment having complicated mechanical and nonmechanical systems with a variety of interconnected systems.
- →Provides technical guidance and specialized team leadership to lower grade employees. *At management's discretion, this Temporary Promotion may be made permanent without further competition in accordance with 5CFR 335.103(c)(1)(i)
Requirements
- ✓MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement.
- ✓This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
- ✓Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

- ✓Military Grades: E-1 through E-9 and WO1 through CW3 Conditions of Employment: Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- ✓This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
- ✓An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- ✓Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- ✓Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- ✓May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
