About the Role

This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR -T32, Position Description Number D1285000 and is part of the WI MATES, Wisconsin Army National Guard.

What You'll Do

  • As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR -T32, WG-5801-11, you will serve as an inspector of surface maintenance equipment to ensure that physical and operating characteristics are within acceptable standards and specifications.
  • Duties involve complex inspection work that requires a wide variety of inspection processes and techniques.
  • May assist higher graded inspectors, as required.

Requirements

  • MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

  • Military Grades: E-1 through E-9 and WO1 through CW2 Conditions of Employment: Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
  • An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
  • The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment.

  • May be required to wear authorized PPE as appropriate.
