What You'll Do
- →As a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Inspector (Indefinite) -T32, WG-5801-12, you will serve as an inspector of surface maintenance vehicles and equipment to ensure that physical and operating characteristics are within acceptable standards and specifications.
- →Duties involve complex inspection work, requiring a wide variety of inspection processes and techniques, at remote worksites or field installations where a supervisor is not readily available.
- →In these situations, work is performed very independently and decisions require a wide range of subjective judgments. ***Indefinite positions are not permanent and have no guarantee to continued employment.
- →Indefinite employees may be subject to separation from employment at any time with a 30 day written notification.
- →If the position becomes permanent, employee may be converted to a permanent appointment without further competition at management's discretion.***
Requirements
- ✓MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement.
- ✓This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
- ✓Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

- ✓Military Grades: E-1 through E-9 and WO1 through CW2 Conditions of Employment: Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- ✓May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

- ✓This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
