THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1595P02 and is part of the PA Deputy Chief of Staff G6, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement.
What You'll Do
- →As a Support Services Specialist, GS-0342-09, you will plan, program, direct and coordinate the administrative functions of the state National Guard (NG).
- →Provide overall technical and administrative direction to administrative support activities, including mail management/distribution, records management, reprographics, privacy and freedom of information acts, printing services management, publications management and supply, micrographics, administrative budget, military correspondence, forms management and field printing.
- →Coordinate all administrative functions within the operating components of the state to provide the most effective support; forecasts problems and needs, identify required resources to include budget, and develops staff facilities and procedures to carry out the resulting program; provide leadership in negotiating with operating personnel and in securing acceptance of proposed programs.
- →Manage and use funds allocated for operation of the branch, including stockroom, property maintenance, and other reimbursable accounts.
- →Assess effectiveness of programs within the broad National Guard Bureau (NGB)/state framework, recommend such adjustments in organization structure or policies and procedures as required to accommodate existing or changing circumstances.
- →Particular attention is given to providing administrative support to newly established programs.
- →Plan and assign work to be accomplished within the branch.
- →Set priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work.
- →Make assignments based on priorities, difficulty and the capabilities of individual employees.
- →Conduct employment interviews and recommend employees for appointment, promotion or reassignment.
- →Establish performance standards.
- →Monitor and evaluate employee performance.
- →Assist employees in reaching performance goals.
- →Inform subordinates of agency policies and programs.
