This position is responsible for assisting the Regional Administrator in leading and directing the execution of an effective and high-quality enforcement program within the Southeast region, consisting of multiple states.
What You'll Do
- →This position functions as a Deputy Regional Administrator (DRA) responsible for assisting the Regional Administrator (RA) in accomplishing the mission of the Wage and Hour Program.The Wage and Hour Division (WHD) is an essential labor law enforcement agency responsible for enforcing significant labor laws affecting nearly 150 million workers.
- →Directly provides guidance and management to the district and other field offices; supervises a significant portion of the regional staff that are involved in either administrative and resource management activities or enforcement and operational activities.
- →Provides direction to regional managers, regional office staff and/or the Regional Solicitor on cases involving significant controversy, complex policy and interpretation of problems resulting from new legislation or changes in compliance concepts and techniques, and problems caused by the need for new guidelines.
- →Maintains continuous appraisals of the effectiveness of the Wage and Hour field program activities in the Region and recommends changes in policy and/or procedures to correct deficiencies and to meet new programmatic needs.
- →Visits District and field Offices regularly for the purpose of reviewing program operations, solving problems requiring a solution at the Regional or National Office level, consulting with District Directors on policies and plans and to provide direction, advice and assistance concerning any matters within assigned program areas.
- →Manages the resources (including HR, Budget, Facilities, IT, and contracts, required for particular program operations and functions.
- →Oversees the expenditure of allotted funds and resource activities within the Region.
