About the Role

This position is to provide services for the clinical programming and daily operations of the program. This position is based in the Birmingham VA Medical Center and/or other facility in order to support real time, in person, response to referrals. In addition, the incumbent must be a skilled communicator capable of developing effective partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies as well as nongovernmental organizations.

What You'll Do

  • Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to: Manages the administrative and clinical aspect of the Compensated Work Therapy Program, and the Transitional Residence Program.
  • Responsible for the supervision of CWT staff, developing performance plans for subordinates, reviewing their work, and evaluating their performance in relation to the plan.
  • Responsible for managing budgets and fund control points associated with program operations that includes budget analysis and projection of funding needs.
  • Completes quarterly budget reports and daily monitoring of the CWT fiscal budget and the completion of Bi-weekly CWT payrolls.
  • Develops work improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary.
  • Responsible for screening, setting up medical clearances, answering consults, admissions to the CWT/TR House Program, treatment planning, monitoring, conducting individual and group therapy, and discharges.
  • Works closely with community agencies and companies to secure employment contracts for CWT that offer potential employment to Veterans.
  • Provides vocational and readjustment counseling to Veterans.
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.
