The U.S. DOT Volpe Center seeks a Supervisory Transportation Analyst to serve as Chief of the Program Development and Capacity Building Division responsible for developing and implementing transportation policies and programs, providing technical guidance on regulations, policies, strategic planning and coordinating programs and affiliated initiatives and activities. Specific Division information can be found in the DUTIES section below.
What You'll Do
- →US DOT Volpe Center's Program Development and Capacity Building Division provides transportation services supporting finance, freight, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), operations, planning, and safety to a wide range of federal, state, regional and local customers in order to improve the efficiency, performance, safety and security of transportation systems.
- →The ideal candidate for this position is a senior level professional who functions independently and demonstrates leadership in team environments and/or managing people.
- →The ideal candidate also has strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills to advance an organization/agency mission in an entrepreneurial, fee-for-service business environment.
- →Experience in analyzing and providing recommendations for improvement of transportation policy and an ability to meet organizational goals is desirable.
Requirements
- ✓CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.

- ✓Failure to meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.
