This position is located in the Office of Administration, of the U.S. Access Board. The U.S. Access Board (AB) is an independent Federal agency devoted to advancing accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities. Access Board operates with approximately thirty staff and a governing board of representatives from Federal departments and public members appointed by the President.
What You'll Do
- →As a Supervisory Technical Services Officer, you will: Manage and supervise staff functions of identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and coordinating concepts and recommendations on major technical policy issues in the area of accessibility that come before the Board for determination of positions.
- →These policy issues arise from requests for various types of technical assistance and from discussions of problems relating to proposals for changes in technical policies, programs, and operations.
- →Develop and implement staffing plans for the unit.
- →Administers the agency's performance management system as it affects subordinates.
- →Provides advice, guidance, and instruction to staff regarding the work of the unit.
- →Develops and implements individual performance plans for subordinates.
- →Counsels staff on the program and administrative policies and practices of the agency.
- →Maintain an ongoing relationship with officials of other Federal departments to keep abreast of activities which impact or have the potential to significantly impact the work of the Board.
- →Makes recommendations to the Executive Director and Board regarding the initiation of collaborative/complementary efforts among agencies in the areas of architectural, transportation and communication accessibility for persons with disabilities.
Requirements
- ✓The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.
- ✓One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓National A probationary or trial period may be required.
- ✓Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
- ✓Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form i-9.
