This Supervisory Supply Technician position is located within the Supply Chain Management Service at the Boston VA Healthcare System, at the West Roxbury, MA campus. This position is full time at 40 hours per week.
What You'll Do
- →The primary purpose of the Supervisory Supply Technician position is to ensure that supplies and material are distributed to all areas serviced by Supply Chain Management.
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Directing, supervising and managing the primary inventory point that receives stores and issues supplies and materials.
- →Supervising a team of supply technicians in the distribution area to provide supplies and material to the VA Healthcare System.
- →Assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
- →Finding ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed.
- →Assuring reasonable equity of performance standards and rating techniques.
- →Approving expenses comparable to within-grade-increases, overtime, and employee travel.
- →Directing and overseeing management and distribution of all supplies and materials in the VA Healthcare System and supported catchment area.
- →Ensuring critical supplies are appropriately monitored and controlled.
- →Delivering supplies in timely and accurate manner, ensuring that supplies and material delivered are in sterile and operational condition; deliveries will be to wards, clinics, and other secondary locations that may be in remote sites.
- →Conducting wall-to-wall and periodic inventories.
- →Analyzing and tests operations, methods, and proposals to evaluate alternatives, to draw conclusions, and to make recommendations in managing the inventory programs for supplies and material.
- →Giving advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
- →Maintaining a thorough understanding of a broad range of knowledge of the Supply Program.
