About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Supervisory Social Worker provides medical Social Work services to the Veteran population at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center (VAMC), as well as supervision to Social Workers.
- →Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties: Provides consultative services for clinical treatment, advocacy, and coordination of care.
- →Independently provides clinical psychosocial consultative services to, Veterans, and their family members to meet physiological, psychological, social, and environmental needs.
- →Supervises a group of employees performing work at the GS 12 and below.
- →Provides administrative, clinical, and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing Social Work Services.
- →Performs administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised.
- →Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff.
- →Observes workers' performance; demonstrates and conducts work performance coaching/remediation.
- →Monitors and addresses staff workload, productivity, and utilization as well as conducts random chart reviews to ensure accuracy and timeliness of documentation, completion of clinically indicated assessments/interventions, and provides feedback to staff consistently.
- →Provides informal feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance.
- →Participates in proposing, developing, implementing, and evaluating key project activities effectively and efficiently using established VA supported strategies.
- →Establishes quality improvement projects within assigned programs, collects, and analyzes data, and reports to appropriate staff timely.
- →Supervises Social Work employees to accomplish the work of the organization unit, exercises supervisory authorities and responsibilities involving work assignment and review, as well as the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised.
- →Performs a wide range of services and provides technical assistance to State, local, and private agencies, and universities.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
