About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU Major duties include but not limited to: Responsible for the daily management and operational aspects of the MHC.
- →Implementation of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) teams within MHC Assists in the development and implementation of follow-up systems to track completed tasks or other issues of concern relating to this program.
- →Provides leadership, guidance, and coordination of staff following the mission/vision of the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System and program direction of the Mental Health Service.
- →Responsible for strategic planning for all aspects of the MHC program to ensure the provision of high quality services to meet the needs of the Veterans being served, including planning, developing, and implementing short and long term goals and objectives consistent with the MHC program's strategic plan.
- →Administers information and analytical systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of service provided to patients.
- →Monitor staff productivity, ensures staff are labor mapped appropriately based on their clinical and administrative responsibilities and reviews individualized productivity targets with staff on a quarterly basis and makes changes to these targets as needed.
- →Develops and implements information systems to track service activities, including visits, referrals, patient demographics, equipment utilization, and patient satisfaction.
- →Exercises supervisory authorities and responsibilities involving work assignment and review, as well as the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised.
- →Ensures program staff receive appropriate training to perform the essential functions of their jobs in primarily outpatient settings.
- →Develop performance standards for employees assigned to this section.
- →Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
- →Clinical Duties: Provides biopsychosocial assessment services and diagnoses mental disorders, particularly for complex or unusually difficult patients.
- →Provides a full range of comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, couples/family, and group psychotherapy.
- →Identifies patient problems requiring consultation with other medical center staff and makes appropriate referrals.
