About the Role
The PCBH Deputy Program Manager serves as the professional leader of three designated clinic locations and reports to the PCBH Program Manager. PCBH is co-located with the Primary Care medical teams, with an emphasis on integration of mental health services within primary care. Incumbents work closely and collaboratively with primary care medical teams within their designated clinic locations.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The PCBH Deputy Program Manager is responsible for assisting the PCBH Program Manager with developing and implementing policies/procedures and monitoring of outcomes within their three designated clinic locations.
- →The incumbent performs the administrative and personnel management function relative to staff supervised including personnel actions, clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation with other departments, and quality improvement.
- →Duties may include but are not limited to: Conducts initial and comprehensive psychosocial assessments of Veterans referred by the Primary Care providers.
- →They review all data, subjective and objective, and make a clinical assessment, identifying needs and strengths.
- →Effectively uses professional skill, objectivity and insight.
- →Uses clinical training, insight and experience to interpret data and to identify viable treatment options.
- →Assesses high risk factors, acuity and need for services.
- →Based on a comprehensive assessment, the incumbent uses professional judgment and advanced practical skills to make a clinical diagnosis and prognosis.
- →Treatment provided will be short term, problem focused and part of the care provided by the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT).
- →Provides insightful assessment of cases involving mental health diagnoses, catastrophic medical conditions, dementia, and other high-risk diagnoses and determines if effective treatment can be provided with a short-term intervention or requires a longer-term intervention.
- →Those cases requiring longer term treatment as determined by the incumbent will initially or later be referred to BHIP or other specialty programs.
- →Coordinates and provides mental health treatment for Veterans assigned to PACT; actively contributes to their PACT teams regarding goals, objectives and interventions for psychosocial and clinical treatment; and recommends adjustments to the Veterans treatment plans and interventions based on any changing needs and/or responses to interventions.
- →Provides consultation services for primary care providers to maximize the effectiveness of their interventions in reducing health-risk behaviors and enhancing health-promoting behaviors, with a significant emphasis on a prevention-oriented model of care.
- →May consult with other specialists in planning treatment for Veterans with co-morbidities.
