About the Role
This Supervisory Social Worker is assigned to the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program at the Washington DC VA Medical Center and stationed at the Community Resource and Referral Center (CRRC). The Supervisory Social Worker provides administrative coordination and oversight of all the Contract Residential Services (CRS) contracts managed by other CRS treatment teams.
What You'll Do
- →Oversees compliance with and successful execution of Homeless Program Performance Measures, assist with the OIG, Joint Commissions and any surveying preparations, assists with PATS-R completions, tracking workload, Veteran satisfaction, and general quality assurance.
- →Exercises supervisor authorities and responsibilities involving work assignment and review, as well as the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised.
- →Works to resolve informal complaints and grievances; develops work improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary.
- →Conducts interviews and makes selections for vacant administrative positions.
- →Manage time and leave (T&L) duties for assigned team to include bi-weekly labor mapping updates.
- →Assist with T&L coverage for peers, as needed.
- →Documenting any allegation of neglect, abuse, or impropriety at the HCHV CRS program site through use of appropriate VA mechanism (i.e., VA Patient Representative, Quality Management, Board of Inquiry, OIG).
- →Reviewing payment requests by HCHV CRS contract providers for treatment of absent Veterans to ensure any payment meets current contract terms.
- →Clinical (25%): Independently provides biopsychosocial assessment, evaluation, and diagnostic services for Veterans with a broad range or psychopathology receiving care within the HCHV Programs.
- →Provides education to both patients and family members regarding relevant homeless concerns and VHA services.
- →Provides comprehensive, evidence-based, psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy and psychoeducation.
- →Supervisory Controls: Maintains supervisory responsibility of the administrative team assigned to the CRRC and provides oversight of the Contract Residential Services (CRS) contracts managed by other CRS treatment teams.
- →The incumbent practices independently, exercising initiative and independent judgement in day-to-day activities.
- →The incumbent is responsible to the HCHV SW Program Coordinator, who is in turn responsible to the Chief/Assistant Chief of Social Work Service Line for professional practice issues.
