About the Role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SHIPYARD PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT in the Welding Shop (Code 926), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
What You'll Do
- →You will provide both technical and administrative supervision to subordinate staff, including planning work, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, and preparing schedules for completion or work.
- →You will analyze, evaluate and adjust shop manpower resources, work operations, equipment, and facilities against current and future scheduled work requirements.
- →You will actively and aggressively participate in shipyard decisions involving acceptance or rejection of new or emergent work.
- →You will be required to identify those anomalies, both within and outside your specific shop cognizant area, which will have a deleterious effect on overall shipyard performance and work execution.
- →You will gather data and analyze that data to determine the quality, safety, cost, schedule and behavior problems in the shop and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective action.
- →You will be responsible for evaluating shop performance from a cost center perspective, understand and evaluate revenue streams and cost to operate the shop in a cost-effective manner.
