About the Role

Serves as the Safety Officer for unit-wide program responsibility in occupational, emergency management, and environmental operations. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021). Incentive authorized up to 25% of base salary. What You'll Do

  • Provide leadership and technical direction to maintain unit-wide occupational safety, health, emergency management, and environment-of-care programs.
  • Implement, analyze, and update Safety, Security, Emergency Management care plan policies to meet safety standards in accordance with Federal, State, and Local law.
  • Validate safety corrective actions plans.
  • Organize and initiate a variety of preparedness code drills to establish facility readiness, evaluate practice, design corrective actions, conduct pre-construction assessments, evaluate incident reports, and assess PPE equipment.
  • Construct analysis reports, make recommendations for operational plans, engage emergency meeting and events, and provide presentation of safety data to facility leadership.
  • REQUIREMENTS This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children.
  • Due to this requirement, the agency must ensure that persons hired for these positions have not been found guilty of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to certain crimes.
  • A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required upon selection/placement.
  • Confidential Financial Disclosure Form required.
  • The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements.
  • If privileges are not obtained or maintained during employment, the employee will be subject to adverse actions, up to and including removal from Federal service.
  • On-call hours or standby duty may be required.

Requirements
