About the Role
The position serves as a Supervisory Purchasing Agent for the VA Health Care System Augusta, GA Prosthetics Service and is responsible for procurement of both standard and non-standard hospital, medical and general supplies, services and equipment (to include rental or lease) to assure rapid delivery of goods, services, and equipment to the Veterans Health Administration.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for inventory management and tracking.
- →Clarify patient eligibility issues.
- →Develops and/or maintains quality assessments and management tools and reports for all aspects of the Small Purchase Section.
- →Develops and/or maintains Position Descriptions and performance standards in coordination with the Network Contract Manager.
- →Consult with and advise patients on medically advisable equipment choices.
- →Coordinate delivery of Home Medical Equipment.
- →Instructs personnel in correct procedures and protocols for completing tasks.
- →Prepares and updates local SOPs.
- →Assist Prosthetics Manager with budget estimate preparation.
- →Plan and organize work of subordinates.
- →Approve annual and sick leave for staff.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: Monday- Friday. 8:00am-4:30pm.
- →Work schedule is subject to change based on agency needs.
